Terms of Service

Last updated: 8/8/2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By using this site ("Steady," "the app," "we," "us," operated by Lance Sinclair ), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What this is

Steady is a self-contained, browser-based tool for tracking debt payoff progress. It runs entirely in your browser; there is no account system, no server-side processing, and no backend storing your information (see our Privacy Policy for details).

3. Not financial advice

Steady is an educational and organizational tool, not a financial advisor, and nothing it displays — projected payoff dates, interest estimates, milestone timing, or anything else — is financial, legal, or tax advice. All projections are estimates based on the numbers you enter and simplified assumptions about how interest compounds; they will not exactly match your real account statements, and shouldn't be the sole basis for a financial decision. For decisions that matter, talk to a licensed financial advisor, a credit counselor, or your lender directly.

4. Accuracy is on you

Steady calculates based on whatever you type in. We have no way to verify your balances, interest rates, or payments against your actual accounts, and no way to know if you've entered something incorrectly. Keeping your numbers accurate and up to date is your responsibility.

5. No warranty

This app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Because everything runs in your own browser, its behavior can also depend on your device, browser, and settings, which we don't control.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Steady Calculator is not liable for any damages — direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this app, including any financial decisions made based on its projections, or any data loss (see our Privacy Policy — since nothing is backed up on our end, lost local data cannot be recovered by us under any circumstances).

7. Your data, your responsibility

Because Steady stores everything locally in your browser, you are solely responsible for backing up your own data via the Export feature. We cannot recover data lost through clearing your browser, switching devices, or any other means.

8. Intellectual property

The design, code, and branding of this app belong to Lance Sinclair , except where otherwise noted. You're welcome to use the app for your own personal debt tracking; this doesn't grant you rights to copy, resell, or redistribute the app itself.

9. Changes to the app or these terms

We may update the app or these terms at any time. Material changes to these terms will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the update.

10. Termination

Since there's no account to terminate, "access" to Steady is simply your use of the page. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time, for any reason, without notice.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America , without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

12. Contact
